Comments: Dear Minister Chambers: As you well know that this bill does nothing to help families uncover the governments/CAS wrong doings in cases, it has only the power to look at 2 issues on the complaints filed before the board, again you have mislead the people of Ontario. Minister as you know as of Dec 8, 2006 that this board as not even been set up and is has 2 ppl working in this office..Minister these issues are not going to go away as you had hoped. As you were made aware Dec 8/06 in a meeting in Burlington of several families and had no concern for them and what has gone on. You can not claim that you have not been made aware of these problems within your ministry.

Comments: I agree with this petition. All parties involved with the abuse of C.A.S. should be allowed to voice their injustices wherever they wish and inform anyone by sharing their information. Wether in court, or not in court. What happened to freedom of speech

Comments: I believe that if we do not look closley at all mistakes or problems we are unable to correct them. If CAS is not open to us then how can we trust them Also if CAS is perfect then how are they human When it comes to ourselves, children and each other we must always be learning and growing and honestly correcting our mistakes openly.

Comments: The new board absolutely has to be able to act on behalf of cases that are in litigation. Anything less is a fatal compromise to the Board's mandate of helping families with Children's Aid Society complaints.

Comments: The Children's Aid Society needs to be accountable to an independent body at all times throughout the process of their involvement. People need to have the right to be heard and have complaints taken seriously. We all know how poor the judgement of CAS workers can be at times.

Comments: A family should be able to use this service to tell of any injustice being done by the Children's Aid Society whether a case is in court or not. If a case is in court at the time of a new injustice, the family should be able to notify the agency and have it investigated. The failure to allow this notification only allows the injustice to continue over a longer term

Comments: when will our government step in and see the light. we know the injustice that happened with the auditor report, the money that is coming from my taxes to fund these in justices sickens me. should just stop paying taxes. I feel that I am owed an exsplanation as to where and what my tax dollars are used for

Comments: My daughter was totally harassed by a few C.A.S. members, and in the C.A.S. affidavit, even though one of them made some good comments about her mothering to us...none of this was even mentioned in the affidavit...as well my daughter showed me the affidavit, and from what I observed, as I had visited my daughter with her young child [way more often than any of the social workers from C.A.S.] she was a loving and nurturing mother, yet they told several lies in the affidavit and there were NO reports of any signs of abuse on this beautiful and happy child...yet they harassed my daughter and a C.A.S. worker snatched our daughter's child with no real justification.

Comments: Hey there, The same thing is happening down in Nova Scotia.Actually two women named Merilyn Dey and Linda Youngston applied to the Supreme Courts to inforce the Minister to abide to this section of their own Act, because it simply said that the Minister "Shall" (it's appropriate legal term)to enforce this. The Minister was forced to do this but placed her own people to be on the Board,so that nobody's complaints can't go anywhere. Again Merilyn and Linda will have to apply to the Courts and prove that the Minister is deliberatly sabatoshing this right for all. A movement is in place (I believe between good/evil)and we need to take back our government and throw the "Bullies in jail"! Keep in touch!

Comments: I am having problems with: The Children's Aid Society of Bruce County. The Society has made a false motion against me in a new Court Motion in October 2007, because I was pleading them to reopen my case because of my wife's Court Ordered Mental Assessment in September 2007. They call it "ongoing adult conflict", I call it "concern", and "crime", that my former wife has/is involved in, and the Society is not properly investigating it despite the many contradictions, and "false" statements, that can be proved in a court of law. The evidence is there to support these findings, but CAS (I feel), is obstructing justice, and not properly investigating the protection order with evidence to cooberate their findings, and have it presented to the court. I need help

Comments: Whether in court or not any parent or child guardian should have the right to have their complaints heard, they should be heard by just and lawful people who will do the right thing if there is a true injustice done to their family! Everyone has the right to be heard and to have their basic human rights upheld!

Comments: When a person is removed from free society, deprived all worldly possessions, and family and friend relations and ordered by the court to be detained in custody for a given amount of time - it is not were we send people to be punished - for that is the punishment. An Abused child is a domestic violence victim. All d.v. victims would be protected better in custody. Prisoners do not worry about being a hwy fatality. But to remand children in custody to serve their entire childhood detained in an artificial home. This is a life worse than death. I was 2 upon turning 18- I was released as the premise of foster care is family is for kids. My father died shortly after I found him in the phone book and moved back home. - Only to learn I had an adopted sister 5 years my junior. She had my dream childhood, with my father and she is 39 as the sole heir has never worked a day in her life nor will she or her children or their children ever have to -- family is not just for kids -- abolish foster care- it is a life worse than death.
