The government of this country and the big corporations are to this day trying to take what does NOT belong to them! they are only in it for the money and power! they must be stopped!! When the last tree is cut down, and the last stream is polluted, until the last fish is dead..then and only then will the white man realise that he can not eat money!!! Our mother earth is dying everyday not just for the native people ,but for the white people also. If you rob one in the end you rob all of us from having a future!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 19, 2011Comments: Islands Trust is an unnecessary and expensive additional level of government on Gabriola Island. There exist Island Trust bylaws that are in conflict with regulations of the the Regional District of Nanaimo and Vancouver Island Health Authority and which add delays and costs to owners.Flag

Thank you for your prompt attention to this pressing matter. Dr. Elena FederFlag

This free website maybe can give your answer. By analyzing something like Exif data or so. But it it really bad that the seller is touching op those images? Maybe he just sharpened the image and removed some things from the background.Flag

Name: Ilio Bertolami on May 3, 2011Comments: Simple principle that is not being applied is that the trustees are not answerable to the residents as much as they seem to be messengers for the Trusts' directors and whatever ideology is being touted as most politically or morally correct. I do believe we should straighten this out and hopefully this may be the opportunity.Flag

Name: Michael N Doyle on May 25, 2011Comments: The Island Trust's OCP pioneered on North Pender Island tried to protect the environment but at the expense of individual land owners. It placed "protection" higher than people or property with poor science and green hysteria. It opens the door to huge administrative cost increases and cost transfer to individual property owners. The lack of accountability in the Trust governance structure is undemocrati (unelected Chair, unelected Executive Council).Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 11, 2011Comments: The Islands are dying, and not sustainable. The trust provides more protection for the overabundant deer, than a small business, places for people to live andfull time residents trying to get by. Their is essentially taxation without representation. Policies that pretend to protect the environment essentially harm the overall environment of the islands .Flag

Name: Bruce Johnstone on Jul 28, 2011Comments: We have exactly the same problems on Bowen. We have just been through several months of revisions to our OCP that were entirely different than those first proposed and published in the required manner, that failed miserably in satisfying the requirements under the Community Charter and the Local Government Act, and that have been usurped by a small number of persons who have not honoured the wishes of the majority. I suggest that the participants in the supposed "process" be carefully questioned by representatives of the Ministry both as part of, and independently of the pending court case here on Bowen. I am also willing to be subpoenaed to provide an affidavit over certain matters of which I have first person knowledge and which are contrary to the above two acts.Flag

Name: P Anna Paddon on Dec 14, 2011Comments: Vancouver Islands needs a high speed rail and highway crossing. PAZ Paddon development, P Anna Paddon@VanIsleDevelop, Constitution Tunnel & Constitution Island is working on building the tunnel, bridges, and man made island, undersea marina, univercity, business resort developments. The Island Trust is important and has aided me in this development. The Environment is important and they have been working to maintain the islands integrity, wild, manicured, nature, parks, forest growth parks, as well as island development. I spoke with a BC Rail family that were lawyers at their in North Vancouver. They were from Lillooet, Quesnel, & Deas(e) Lake areas of Chetwynd/Fort st. John area. Prince Rupert needs a high speed rail connection to this tunnel as BC Ferries are re-allocated. In my capilano College class we learned which BC Mine and Resources were in BC's Business Plan. These have already been opened, but, the provincial government held them from being developed. This family that had been part of the trust poll in the 1970's became part of the National Hockey League Trust on Saltspring. Their son became an NHL player with the Island trusts help. I visited their and the Island trust wanted to groom the population to protect our islands and country. he was one that they chose. He was friends with Scott Pelly, the Pelly family as kindergarten students they visited each other and camping/cottage outingsto the islands. The Island Trust can trust Constitution Tunnel Development because it also wants to protect development and the islands integrity.Flag
