D PembletonWhy should the SNP be allowed to keep millions pounds of OUR money in Highland Council's reserves while cutting back OUR services at the same time?
Phil FergusonYes I support the campaign to halt the cuts So this is what the SNP mean by “freedom” - a four-lettered word that spells CUTS.

Shonagh MorrisonThose making the decisions which will result in the loss of the Schools Library Service, its Principal Schools Librarian and staff have no idea what the service contributes to education in Highland.
Debbie IrvineI have an autistic son who is due to start P1 in August. I am appalled to learn of cuts to the special needs budget. These cuts mean that this vulnerable group of children are being denied the right to a decent level of education and consequently the right to fulfill their potential as individuals in our society. Cutting the education budget is such a short sighted outlook, a 'quick fix' but with devastating long-term effects on our children. I will fight tooth and nail to ensure that my child is not denied the resources to which he is entitled to.
Anonymousthe lose of the support and the freeze on posts will only lead to the service becomeing untenable.
AnonymousWith £17 million in reserves why cut vital services? The loss of the School Library Service will have a lasting impact on pupils and teachers!
Roger SaxonAs a member of the former administration, where both political and 'independent' councillors were equally valued, I was proud of the achievements we made in education. Integrating the school and community library staff was seen as a progressive reform that actually saved money and improved the service. Literacy is our biggest challenge in education today. Reverse these cuts. It could be done without any need to raise extra funding via council tax.

Paula WhiteThey are telling us we can't have ou local nursery as there is one available half an hour away, and it's quote;our choice to live where we life, and we know that if we want to do anything for ourselves or our children we'll have to travel for it unquote.

Fiona RoyOne of the reasons that many people give for moving to the Highlands is a good education for their children. If this deteriorates, which it will do with cuts, this movement will lessen and existing people will move out resulting in a reduction in population. Some schools will then have to close. The ripple effect will continue till we've reached a point no-one really wanted to get to and from which it is very hard and even more expensive to return.
