In December, the Human Rights Commission of Washington quietly enacted WAC Rule 162-32, mandating that all public accommodations -- including schools and businesses -- grant access to shower facilities, locker rooms, and restrooms based on the individual's internal 'gender identity' or 'gender expression'.
Not only does this new mandate require people to completely ignore biology and reasonable concern for safety in private places, but it also restricts an individual's ability to question the motives of an individual entering those facilities.
This policy sets dangerous precedent.
Business owners run the risk of being sued if they speak out to protect the privacy of their customers.
Coaches and gym teaches are no longer able to make sure their athletes are able to shower and change their clothes in a safe setting.
Women must get comfortable with the idea that an individual with male anatomy, even in an aroused state, can change clothes next to them in a locker room, so long as that individual claims to feel like a woman internally.
This rule makes what is illegal on the street, legal in locker rooms and showers. And it must be stopped.
The concern related to the rule is not that all transgendered people are predators. The concern is that the rule creates opportunities for those who are.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this cause. If everyone reading this could reach out to just a few friends today we might finally reach that thousand signature mark.

Laws are intended to protect citizens. Far from doing so, this law will give predators easy access to vulnerable women and children. It also blatantly disregards the rights of the vast majority for the politically correct agenda of the infinitesimal few.
I am not okay with men ( who just claim to identify as a woman) using the women's restroom. This puts our women and girls at risk for abuse. Please repeal immediately! A better solution is providing an alternate bathroom for transgender individuals.
1) The government has no constitutional jurisdiction to determine bathroom policy! 2) The danger of rape increases detrimentally when the only needed key to a woman's private space is the claim to be such. As a 16 year old, this is hugely discomforting.
To pass a law of this magnitude without the vote of the people is disappointing to say the least. This law only takes into consideration 0.25% of the population. What about the 99.75%? This law should be repealed and taken to the people for a vote.
This rule is dangerous. I don't understand how someone cannot see that. Also, I don't understand how and unelected group of people that don't have to answer to the public can so drastically change our lives and put our Washington women in danger.
Protect our children and grandchildren from those who will misuse this.
I will never agree to allow anyone but same biological gender persons occupy bathrooms or locker rooms with any of my family members. I want a repeal of this despicable rule/bill on the ballot to rescind and block any further attempts to pervert our society in this manner.

The depletion of students from public schools has already begun because of this. I guess they won't have to worry about overcrowding anymore. But surely teachers will lose their jobs and schools will lose funding and support from their communities.
