Reverse the traffic management changes in Sandyford Industrial Estate

In November 2012, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council made a dramatic change to the traffic flow in Sanyford Industrial Estate, introducing new traffic signals, changing junctions and most importantly changing a one-way system on Blackthorn Road to a two way system. The impact has been to increase the traffic congestion in the general Sandyford area with reports of massive increases in journey times for both car drivers and pedestrians. Tens of thousands of people live and work in this area, and these changes have had a dramatically negative impact on their standard of lives due to the increased time it now takes to enter and exit Sandyford Industrial estate. This petition is calling for the council to re-examine carefully what they set out to achieve, and consider reversing the changes in order to alleviate the problems that were introduced.

I have spent the last few mornings sitting in the gridlock on Blackthorn Road and it is clear that the current traffic flow is failing us all. I am currently gathering the data on these delays to present directly to the council so they can no longer ignore the reality of our commute.

Seeing one hundred people put their name to this gives me hope that we can finally fix the gridlock that ruins my commute every morning. It is a relief to know that so many of you are just as frustrated by these changes as I am.

Took me 45 mins to get out of the estate yesterday. RIDICULOUS.
Absolute nightmare trying to get home every evening now. Was never this bad before they messed it up.
Been working here 10 years and traffic has never been this slow. Sort it out.
Every morning is a disaster for anyone walking or driving. Total gridlock.
It was working fine before. Why fix what isnt broken honestly.
