What is the reason for such act? How can somebody take an animal, a friend, away from someone which life has been a long fight. I want to hope that that decision won't last and that Elon will come back soon with Gaël.Flag

I have seen Gael and Elon at the hospital and Elon is important in assistance and in my judgment there is no harm at the hospital. Elon accompanies Gael on outtings that are crucial for Gael to live an enjoyable life. I am completely appalled that Elon has been taken away from Gael. He is the last person that would provide an unsafe environment.Flag

He provides Gael invaluable services that allow Gael to live an independent, joyful life. Gael and Elon should not be apart. They are truly family and need to be together. I am concerned for the psychological and spiritual well being of both Gael and Elon. Please allow Elon to return home now!Flag

Name: Jerry Adamson on Jan 31, 2011Comments: Gael and Elon are a team. Gael has completely turned his life around since his connection with Elon. I do not understand how an organization can do this. I would personally like to see there evidence that he has mitreated this companion. Elon is like a bst friend to all of us. everyday he would come into the VA Hospital he would great everyone. Elon needs to be returned to his master for the better of both of them. I thought organizations were here to help dis-advantaged people but evidently not. This is so cruel and mean what has happened. Thie individuals that took Elon can not in any way have an kind of heart and see what kind of dis-service they have done. Elon needs to be returned immediatelt.Flag

Name: Niel Harding on Jan 31, 2011Comments: As a fellow para I know that companionship is more life giving than any medicine, any equipment, any counseling... Have always looked with appreciation for the work Canine Companions does,a real disappointment hearing of their warped thinking taking Elon from Gael. I worry about Gael and about Elon....who is a part of our Utah handcycle and disabled atheletes family, both of them. All those who have considered the help on Canine Companions will think twice I believe.Flag

Name: Rachel on Jan 31, 2011Comments: A more professional approach would have been discussing your concerns with Gael, rather than tricking him into showing up for an appointment and then taking the dog. Please allow Gael to live unleashed, even if his dog must be leashed. I'm ashamed that a company that purports to do so much good would commit such a horrendous act. Taking Gael's dog was akin to taking his child. Please work with him to return Elon to his home. RachelFlag

Name: ANARCHY BRANDON on Jan 31, 2011Comments: This is ridiculous people! Find something else to do. This COMPANION and his owner are living life to the fullest.. Conquering obstacles in life together! I believe properly trained dogs do not belong leashed up in life. RUDE... This Dog I've met personally and they are happy and changing disabled peoples lives daily showing others what is possible and that with help of a canine we "disabled folks" have a fair shot at a normal life. Leashing a dog and his owner are not the ways to do so.. MY OPINION. You should be ashamed of yourselves....Flag
