Rethinking Learning Commons Plan

We, the undersigned, believe that the Learning Commons plan should be rethought. The cost of the current plan does not seem smart at this juncture. ➢ The plan, as it stands, is not likely to generate revenue that will compensate for the cost. ➢ Furthermore, the Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) is inappropriate for Marywood’s small collection, it is extremely expensive, it is impractical, and it is likely to be even less useful in the future as more of the collection is digitized. For these reasons, we ask that the Learning Commons plan be put on hold until a more appropriate and cost-effective design is supported by a more substantive part the Marywood community.
