While knocking on doors out in the community, I've heard many of you say that government has gotten too big. That's why I'm fighting to downsize the Erie County Legislature.
As I'm sure you know, party bosses and downtown bureaucrats in Erie County are trying to block a ballot referendum that would give voters like you a say in the size and spending habits of county government. If passed, the referendum would decrease the bloated County Legislature from 15 to 11 members and save taxpayers at least $4 million over 10 years.
The bureaucrats are trying to steal your right to vote on the referendum. They even went to court to silence your voice.
I refuse to let that happen. It's time we put politics aside and fight for progress in Western New York. I’m fighting for your right to vote on this referendum.
Last Thursday, we won the first round of this fight! The judge ruled in our favor to restore the referendum.
But they've appealed the judge’s ruling – wasting more taxpayer dollars in a frivolous attempt to silence your voice.
We’ll keep fighting this political ploy to thwart progress, but we need your help. Take a stand for progress by signing this online petition today to restore the referendum to the ballot.

Kennedy represents the Erie County Legislature's second district.
The Buffalo News has described Kennedy's time in the County Legislature, saying, “If his Erie County Legislature career provides a guide, Timothy M. Kennedy would throw some elbows in the State Senate and scrap for his constituents. He would barter and agitate for whatever he can get for the folks back home.”
