| 354 | Dan Daly | Finding qualified and quality people like Mike Hanley is not easy. He is bike racing in the Midwest and has done a great job from what i have seen. I hate to see anybody get fired, let alone somebody who breathes and lives bike racing here in the Midwest. You don’t simply replace people like him.
My only suggestion other than to sign this petition is for promoters and racers to vote with their pocketbook. We all have our breaking points with people, organizations, etc and mine took place many year's ago with the USCF. Perhaps this will be the wake up call for some people out there. Racing will go on with or w/o Mike, it seems though it was better with Mike. It's disappointing to see the USCF treat somebody like this despite the objections of so many. |
| 355 | Otto Wenz | Mike Hanley is an old timer and has supported us for many years. Mike has always supported SuperWeek and cycling in general. He has helped me sustain one of the largest events in the country, we are celebrating our 40th year this season.
With all due respect please give Mike his position back. Otto Wenz Jr. a former President of USCF. and World Championships. |

| 360 | David Gable. | Way to go you idiots. I am sure that whatever Mike did is some minor thing. I have been at a few races where he was there and found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and nice to deal with. Good move get rid of someone who is willing to basically volunteer as I am sure he is not making a killing in this position. Way to go. If you can provide me with Mikes home address I will just take care of this for you and send Mike off to the great ride in the sky as I am sure that his offense is not only punishable by firing but also by death. You are part of the biggest reason I have basically stopped racing some dealing with a bunch of people who want to sit around and make competing less and less fun with all of your bullshit. I hope that USAC drops dead. YOU SUCK. You should all be shot in the mouth with a shit gun. Have a great day and good job in your continuing efforts to run local racing into the ground. |

| 362 | Carl Wilkins | I have been a member of USA Cycling for over 30 years and I am beginning to agree with the cycling community that a new CEO at USAC is needed.
You guys fired the wrong guy. Don't you remember what happened when you fired Nestor Evancevich? ABR was created. Now you will have to deal with another independent organization. You need to find out the facts about the Illinois Cycling Association and realize that the group of people you appointed, (ie David Fowkes) is hated in the cycling community. You are going to have to live with your decision. Support bicycle racing or the Illinois Cycling Association. |

| 369 | Nestor Evancevich Jr, | Many of you will know who I am. Some may not. My family has know Mike for over 25 years now. There will be many that come and go in cycling but Mike has always been here to stay.

Have you all not learned from the past. I remember when cycling was stronger in the state of IL then nearly anywhere else. Cycling has never been the same since my father was USCF Reg. Rep. Some of you might not have been on the same pages as him. But he was pushing to make it the sport what it should be. In the 80's and 90's Mike was always fighting along side with my family.
Maybe its time to move on from USA cycling. Learn from the past. |

| 371 | Scott Van Maldegiam | I have not had many dealings with Mike Hanley, but the few that I have had have been good. Quick to respond and very helpful.
I have found so many people who have signed this petition that I respect. Mike should get his job back and should have never lost it to begin with. Obviously, since Larry Martin has already been named to fill this vacancy, the train has left the station and it is now too late to rehire Mike.
For USAC, I certainly hope this was a wise choice. From Larry's credentials, it looks like he has the knowledge and ability to serve the region well. On the other hand, I feel bad for Larry as he has very big shoes to fill and for everything he doesn't do BETTER than Mike, he will be criticized for. Is that fair... No, but it will happen because Mike was so well liked.
Good luck Larry in filling Mike's shoes and Mike, good luck in your future endeavors. |

| 373 | Doug McLerran | I’m very disappointed to hear that USAC has fired Mike Hanley. Mike has been an ambassador for the sport of cycling for many years. I first met Mike riding the training rides from his shop in Glenview IL in 1985 (what some call the pizza ride will always be to many of us The Hanley Ride). He taught many of us about bike racing and hosted clinics at his shop. He officiated races for over 20 years, his official’s signature was the first on my USCF racing license. I’ll always remember when Mike came home from the 1987 Tour de France when he worked for 7-11, sharing his photos and experiences. As long as I’ve known Mike he has always been professional, fair and has stood up for the best interests of our sport. His years of experience are an invaluable asset to American cycling. Whatever USAC has done to lose the services of Mike Hanley is something that should be explained to the membership in our District and set straight.
