152 Dave LewisWhat happened to Mike Hanley ? He has been very supportive to me personally. When I restarted my racing I found it relativley easy with his assist.
153 D. WintinI decided to get licensed this year after riding for several years in a competing group's events. In part I came back because of Mike and the leadership and professionalism that I found in him. I quit the USCF organization years ago because of the overbearing, heavyhanded approach inflicted upon the membership. It seems that things have not changed. I'm sure you don't care - you already have my dues for the year.

156 Brandon GroffMike has helped me over the years. If he cannot be reinstated, at least a detailed reason for the release would be appropriate.

161 andrea smessaertMike you are in my thoughts! Ride on
162 Timothy WozniakYou owe the membership, particularly the Midwest an explanation regarding why you would terminate someone that has been key to cycling in our region.
163 Gary PainterIn my opinion, Mike Hanley has been a dedicated and respect USCF official. Please reinstate him.
164 Ryan LindsayTo whom it may concern, I have worked with Mike Hanley in various capacities over the last 6 years and have found him to be a huge asset to cycling in the Ohio, Indiana & Kentucky region. He has always been an advocate for me as a rider, a huge help to me as a race promoter, and a teacher and leader to me as a race official. Mike has a passion for cycling that I don't see in other USA Cycling staff that I have worked with, he has been in & around the sport from the highest levels of European racing to a local crit in an off the map town, but the passion has always been there and he has made a big difference to the rise and success of the sport in our region. I am optomistic that you will realize that an error has been made in removing him from his position, we don't want a new representative, I think you'll find that we like the one we already have. Please put Mike back in as the USAC Midwest Regional Representative. Ryan Lindsay Zephyr Wheel Sports/Cyclesport Race Team
165 kevin lantzSurprised that USA Cycling finds it in the best interest of cycling in the midwest to fire Mike.

167 Joe BartelsOH Great, I see everybody followed the quote professional's news flash. I have a bit more passion for it and take the recent administative actions a bit more personally. Hanley fired??!! What the hell ever! This is not about friendship, its about business. As far as I can tell (along with the rest of the region) he is about the only thing worth paying the escalating annual rate increases shoved down our throats by USAC. Knock Knock USAC. Here is one for you to consider. ABR is right around the corner. Yah they are smaller but also cheaper and now with just about as much to offer. At this level, cycling is all about the business($$$). Do the math. USAC promotes competition. Now its USAC's turn. Do YOUR part to stay ahead of the competition,...reinstate Mike Hanley. I am sure you will take this lightly as you are trying to build from the top down but it was built from the bottom up. Sure, most of us (promotoers and cyclist) are at the bottom of the totem pole. But don't forget that we also have the gold you so desperately seek to keep USAC alive and ultimately secure your current position. Yes we may be small fingers but we reach deep and can give you a "reach around" that you won't forget. Sorry if you think this is a rash reponse but this pisses me off and I plan to stand against what I feel is wrong. We all have worked countless (non-compensated hours/days/months) trying hard to promote cycling. We all want to bring professional events to the racers but hell, face it, the more crap you guys hand down from the top in the form of fees, rules, and charges just make it harder to promote the sport. It just takes all the fun out of it. If its no fun, then who wants it? Mike Hanley was the perfect bridge for that. And if you bombed that bridge without having another bridge to cross the river,....thats just dumb....thats just bad business.

173 Dan RamseyI met Mike Hanley for the first time this past weekend in Dayton at the Race Officials Clinic he presided over. The reason I ended up at the clinic was a direct result of the time and interest Mike took in answering a couple email inquiries I made re: officiating....it was most obvious that this guy was passionate about building a strong base and growing the sport. His approach in leading the clinic was simple and oh so non-elitist. Ya know, who in the heck would want to spend time with the hassles of officiating cycling...gotta say I had those doubts. But after an afternoon in Mike's clinic I had become passionate about wanting to give back to cycling and especially assisting Mike in any way possible. He's obviously been on the bike awhile and truly understands/feels the plight of cyclists.....I wanna be on this guy's team. By the end of the clinic, everyone had been impressed with his passion and delivery and we broke out in spontaneous applause to recognize those efforts. Thru his efforts on a Saturday afternoon, there are now 16 new race officials ready to assist midwest cycling events. This is my first direct foray w/ USA Cycling and Mike easily converted me into a passionate ambassador for the cause. But now w/ Mike's termination, I have to question my naivety in ardently supporting an organization that would want to rid itself of the spark that ignites others to kick butt and grow the sport. True, I do not know of the reason for termination....but if it's the result of Mike's determination to "have our back" and ensure support for the efforts of folks in this region to kick up cycling a few notches then SHAME ON USAC!!

184 Damian MaggosI have known Mike for several years and am shocked at the announcement of his dismissal. Mike has been instrumental in reviving USCF racing in Indiana.
185 Bruce SkillingsI have been a licensed racer since the early 70's, directed the 87 National Criterium Championships, co-founder of Team Dayton. I have always heard good things about Mike Nanley and he has also been there when we needed help and answers. USA Cycling needs to do what is best for the Midwest Region and this decisioin was not one of them.
186 AnonymousAs USAC member and race director, I find it hard to understand how this decision could be made at such a crucial time of the season. Mike has been a significant resource as a representative of USAC. Please re-consider this decision ASAP

193 Clayton FeldmanThe circumstances of his dismissal are unknown to me, but I always felt that he was a caring and knowledgeable individual who represented the sport well.
194 Adam Palmerare you kidding...now I really will reconsider my license renewal!
195 Spencer DellBeing a collegiate cyclist, I have come in contact with Mike Hanley alot over the years. Whether it was learning the duties at his official clinics he put on just for collegiate cyclists in the middle of winter or the numerous races he has made a safe and efficiant success with his expertise. This man has single handedly brought the life of our sport back to the midwest and has had a passion to cultivate the development of the collegiate cycling scene here in the midwest. It is a public outcry to dismiss such and influencial, self-less, and genuine man such as Mike Hanley. I urge you to reconsider this decision because the loss of Mike Hanley will unfortunately bring about the loss of midwest cycling...a true shame for all in this great sport.

199 Daniel MendozaMike Hanley has helped the Midwest region grow and prosper. He has selflessly worked with USAC and collegiate racers, officials, and race organizers to improve the presence or cycling in our region. I would like to have him reinstated or at least explained why he is no longer the Midwest Regional Representative.
