The present overall condition/ atmosphere at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU),India is neither conducive nor healthy for it's smooth running. Students as well as staff feel insecure, intimidated and threatened. Consequently, it is bearing a direct effect on students' studies and careers, as well as on the quality and consistency of research at the campus.Students, staff and their families feel very disturbed. In the light of this scary situation, these students, their families, AMU alumni, its fraternity,as well as the well-wishers of AMU and the community demand that the central government should launch a "judicial inquiry" for finding out this disturbed and non-functional state of AMU since last five plus years. The list of Specific complains are as below: 1. AMU's residential system lacks basic infra-structure, residents feel insecure, facilities inefficient and broken. 2. AMU's departments and faculties also suffer similarly; quality of education, teacher-students relations, academic excellence, lack of proper guidance, and lack of any incentive for career is troubling. 3. AMU students feel "caged in" as they have no appropriate platform/forum from where to raise their voices,AMU administration is not cooperative, nor seriously listen to their many grievances. there is a total "disconnect" between the Vice Chancellor/Administrators and the student body (which also does not have a functional Students' Union) 4. AMU Court, Executive & Academic councils are neither engaged, concerned, nor display any authority to fix all these problems. Vice Chancellors and administrators run the campus at their will. 5. AMU badly needs to be fixed. The present AMU governing and administrating bodies are either incompetent, or not doing their job properly.
