Name: Bob Gilbert, Owner, Andover Liquors on Nov 16, 2012Comments: As a longtime reader and advertiser, I am astonished that the Andover Townsman editorial and business staffs have been decimated. Long after most of our competitors abandoned print advertising for the web, we have stuck with the Townsman largely to support a local institution. I cannot imagine continuing to do so if its own parent company does not feel the same level of commitment to this fine paper.Flag

Name: Sarah (Sally) Matson on Nov 16, 2012Comments: In addition to the necessary items listed above, a town newspaper keeps people connected. We learn about the cultural events that feed our souls: Art in the Park, high school theatrics, senior center activities, and hundreds more. We see photos of the parades and commemorative ceremonies that honor our past. We smile at new babies and pause to remember those who died. A brand new Andover citizen begins to feel at home, recognizing names and faces in the paper, remembering to attend the important events. The Townsman plays a vital part in making us care for each other. Sally MatsonFlag

The Editor and staff have received numerous awards and the townspeople have appreciated being well informed. Neil Fater ensures that all sides of a story are covered and all opinions are welcome. Why should the people of Andover lose this treasure?Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 16, 2012Comments: The Townsman is crucial to having the democracy we have in Andover. The papers coverage of local issues, such as in depth reporting leading up to Town Meeting and local races cannot be found anywhere else. The Eagle Tribune does not come close to keeping Andover residents abreast of what is going on in AndoverFlag
