Comments: Considering that you published Gary Taubes' groundbreaking piece in the NYTimes Magazine almost 10 years ago I was surprised to see this article. Again we must ask if journalism is an attempt to uncover and present the truth, or is it just reporting both sides of any controversial subject, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion even about science. I hope that Ms. Parker-Pope is now engaged in some further research on the subject, and she can perhaps help herself and her readers to escape the fat trap.

Comments: In the last 4 months, I have lost 40 lbs., and greatly improved my blood pressure and lipid levels by eating a high-fat, very low carb, essentially ketogenic diet. I am never hungry, nor do I have cravings. I can't imagine ever going back to my old eating habits.

Comments: I've been following a low-carb Primal Blueprint diet since March 2011. I've lost - and kept off - 40 lbs. Not hungry all the time, no blood sugar swings, no reaching for the Tums at all hours of the night & day. Down from a 14 to an 8. I love it!

Comments: More than 50 pounds lost and kept off for a year now. I have to add carbs to maintain my weight...lol. My lipid profile has never been better and I feel healthy for the first time in a long time. No more mood swings, no more worrying about counting calories. I eat reasonable portions when I am hungry and I do not feel deprived. This is how life should be!

Comments: I am not a scientist or doctor. I am a health information management professional turned personal trainer. I have see this pervasive obesity in the medical data and I have seen it in the gym. My personal experiences led me to research, research, and more research. There is no denying the facts. We must spread the message of carbohydrate restriction and insulin resistance. The health of our country depends on it.
