When I think hockey, I think of three things: number 99, Bobby Orr's flying goal in game 7 of the Stanley Cup, and John Buccigross. John has written about the more human side of hockey for the past few years and it's been the one reason I look forward to Mondays. Unfortunately, he is in a contract dispute with ESPN.com and will no longer be writing a column for them. Others write about the people behind the game but not as well or as eloquently as Buccigross. I miss his rides on the Zamboni with players, head office folks, and musicians. We need to bring this talent back to ESPN.com. Let's convince The Powers That Be that they are at a loss without Buccigross! |
