Comments: I lived in The St. John's area and was the owner of a wonderful pit bull. I had no idea that there was BSL in Newfoundland and to hear this saddens me. Uninformed, uneducated, and backward-thinking, plain and simple. Please take the time to educate yourselves on this loyal and loving breed.

Comments: I disagree with banning certain breeds of dogs in Paradise.... Dogs have unique individual personalities and very dog/ situation should addressed on an individual basis. However, I do believe there should be restrictions on the number of animal you own in a residential area... Personally, I would rather live next door to a responsible owner of a bull terrier than an irresponsible owner of 4/5 digs left outside barking.

Comments: This breed is no different than any other exception for the Labrador retriever... If raised in a loving enviroment they are the most loyal. Just like that samoyed husky who can crush steel with it's jaws...or the Irish wolfhound that can rip you apart if provoked...as like most anything would do if provoked....not unlike most humans.... it's pure predijuce and ignorance..." I've seen dobermans kill small animals and threaten to kill anything that walked in their way... but that was all due to it's owner who is now in jail and the poor dog was put to sleep...I ask you... was it the dogs fault ???? Really... think about it and ask yourself if all dogs could be like this then why not ban them all...? I wonder is their a type of human they don't allow there to. Maybe it should be the whole counsil to think of such a law to abide by in a town...I believe someone is getting paid well for doing nothing but blog this kind of negative attraction

Comments: BSL is wrong, proves and achieves nothing... how can you blame an entire breed of dog for something a single dog has done, and most likely not even a true pitbull... Either way, it does not matter, authorities are missing the entire point and fail to punish the owner of that dog who bites a child or another dog. You can put any dog in the wrong hands and it will attack. I have a pitbull and she is "by far the nicest dog anyone has ever met". If we would only look at the big picture here and not be so narrow minded, we may achieve something. How about raising the fine and jail time for any individual who is known to hurt, mistreat or use pitbulls or any other dog for that matter. BSL is getting this world nowhere... fast..... I just cannot understand how authorities can not see this. Punish the deed, not the breed......
