Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2012Comments: I am a resident of Paradise and can't believe this is law. This is such a backwards way of thinking. When I was a kid it was the German Sheppards, then the Dobermans were the bad dogs now its the Pit Bulls. This is not based in fact. Guess what...its not the breed of dog its the owners! Paradise council please rethink this ban.Flag

Name: Melody Sorenson on Oct 2, 2012Comments: Breed-specific legislation is not only ineffective, it is unfair. Responsible dog owners should not be penalized because of the actions of a few individuals. I, myself, am not a pitbull owner, but I sympathize with those who are forced to make such a difficult decision.Flag

Comments: Breed specific legislation is just another form of discrimination. I have known many many pit bulls or bully breed dogs that are sweeter than you can imagine. Blame the irresponsible owners, not the dogs. This goes for all breeds. ANY dog is capable of aggression in the wrong hands.Flag -

Comments: I have been around dogs for a large portion of my life, various breeds too. Honestly, the dogs I've gotten bitten by the most of the 'cute' toy breeds that yap their heads off. And the sweetest, most loving dogs have been from those breeds that are deemed dangerous by fools who clearly DO NOT know what they are talking about! Before people go banning certain breeds they should do their research. It is not the animal that should be legislated against - it is the owners who raise their animals to be vicious on purpose.Flag -

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2012Comments: Perhaps the town should adopt a policy of offering resposible pet ownership seminars on a regular basis....TEACH THE OWNERS! Although, I believe this is the same council that a few years ago proposed "shooting dogs" that deficated on the trails around Octagon Pond...rather than legislate that the owners to "pick it up"!Flag

We are planning to buy a house in the near future and have plans to move outside of Paradise because of this law. We have dreams of having a Pitbull one day and we refuse to live in a town with this mentality.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2012Comments: This is crazy talk! Animals should be judged upon behavior, yes, which is all based upon the training which leads directly to the pet owner himself/herself. If anything there should be major, major consequences for the person, not animal.Flag
