To date, marijuana is scheduled as an illegal substance 'with no accepted current medical use', being grouped together with drugs such as PCP & Heroin. While thirteen states now have medical marijuana laws pertaining to the medicinal usage of cannabis, federal law still prohibits it, indeed leaving patients on a precariously slippery slope with no where to turn. These conflicting laws between state and federal are unconstitutional and the need for legally safe access to medicinal cannabis must be met, to meet the growing number of patients who are responsibly utilizing medical marijuana with a doctor's recommendation and registering themselves on state-run MMJ Registries in order to be fully compliant with their particular states guidelines pertaining to the legal usage of medicinal cannabis, without fear of governmental backlash.
This petition is specifically targeting the overdue rescheduling of medical marijuana and is a group effort between Colorado CHRONIX Medicinal Cannabis Community and Green Faith Ministries.
