As long as class offerings are limited, let's keep their grades in middle school where they belong. In the 8th Grade at Cabin John Middle School, there are only two choices for English - "Advanced" or On-Level. If you get an "A" or "B" in the Advanced class, it appears on your high school transcript (as a non-honors elective) impacting your high school GPA. If you get a "C," it does not appear on your high school transcript. Thus students who are not quite able to achieve an "A" are better off slacking off and aiming for a "C," rather than impacting their high school GPA with a "B." Is this REALLY what we want to be teaching our 8th graders??!!
