As members of Special Olympics Alaska Team Mat-Su, we feel that we are being treated unfairly. Special Olympics is all about inclusion. There was an inclusion incident with one of our athletes that our area director didn't let go to state games. She was an athlete coach. For the first time EVER, she wasn't ALLOWED to be an athlete coach, because the area director said she COULDN'T. Also, we have become like family to our head coaches. It devistates us to see them go because of severe lack of communication between the area director, and the coaches. We feel that the area director is jeopardizing the entire special olympics team by not directing the team correctly. It is important to us as a team to request a new area director!
