This is a petition addressed to Yale University Press and intended for all those who would like to see the republication of psychoanalyst Didier Anzieu's masterpiece The Skin Ego in English translation. Anzieu's text is a crucial source for many clinicians and academics working in psychoanalytic theory, and is currently almost impossible to access. There are very few copies available in academic libraries, and it has been unavailable for purchase for a significant time now. With much current scholarship building upon or indebted to Anzieu's theoretical approach in this book (for example, the recent 'haptic turn' in Film Studies), as well as the potential for new research directions to be generated, it is all the more necessary that it becomes widely available again. This petition is, therefore, one stage in efforts to persuade Yale Univeristy Press both of the necessity in psychoanalytic and psychoanalytically-informed communities for its republication, and also the economic viability of doing so: that there is a desire for this text and that it would be taken up widely. If you would like to demonstrate this, we would very much encourage you to sign the petition below. This petition is organised through the PsyLitFilm research network (www.psylitfilm.com).
