From the creation in 1993 of what is now the V8 Supercars category, the series is becoming tired, obsolete and boring to watch. As Australia's premier racing category, the so called 'supercars' no longer offer a modern representation of the car enthusiast community. With over the top rules and regulations, the racing spectacle is now also terrible to watch. For example, the 'supercars' still run essentially the same engine capacity and configuration from 1993, meanwhile the production cars they are based on have technically changed dramatically. Why not bring back a more affordable form of series production racing open to manufacturers other than ford and holden. Imagine a variety of cars such as Ford, Subaru, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Holden, Audi, Mercedes, Toyota etc all competing in the one category in an open class. How can Australia claim to be a multicultural society when our premier motor sport category is only open to two local manufacturers? If you also believe it's time for change, sign the petition!
