Quail Ridge Park, on North Liberty's west side, was built in 1991. Last year, the aging playground equipment had reached a point of disrepair, and some parts, such as the slide, were removed before they became a safety concern. They have yet to be replaced due to budget constraints.
In a town full of young families, the decommissioning of any play equipment at a neighborhood part is a loss to the community. We hope to see the original structure replaced by next summer.
