Replace federal employees' 1st $ health care plan with self-funded Obamacare. Replace federal employee salary based pension plan with a 401(k) + 6% matching after budget surplus has been reached. These 2 plans are the most expensive entitlement plans in our nation. By replacing them now with the plans available to the private sector (voters), it could possibly wipe out the deficit within 10 years. The voting public would not have to worry about getting their entitlements reduced because they are so meager now. There are over 800,000 fed employees, which will be a significant savings annually. Cutting outrageous salaries of the Congress Members will be an added benefit in the deficit reduction. All of these actions will bring the fed employees in line with the people.
