105 AnonymousI have a fiance. I cannot tell anyone because when he was 19 he had a 16 year old girlfriend and was found guilty of attempted rape of a minor (plea bargain). This charge is due to the fact that in Ohio there is not a stautory rape charge only rape! We have been together for 3 years and have a newborn baby. However, because he is on parole we are not allowed to live together to raise our duaghter or get married. His parole officer when she found out about our child even went as far as to put a sanction on him even seeing me saying that having a sexual relationship is in violation of his parole! Remember, all he did was have a girlfriend 3 years younger than him. i also have an older son and daughter from a previous marraige and this is affecting us being together as a family and the registration laws will definately affect all three of my children when he is finally off parole and we are living together. Oh, he cannot get a good job and has to live in a very dangerous apartment complex because nobody will rent to him and locality ristrictions. Now they want to add that a sex offender cannot WORK near schools and such! its hard enough to get a decent paying job to support his family already. This has been a nightmare on both sides of our family and seems like with al the new laws and restrictions that this will only get worse for us. It has been such an emotional strain on our relationship which of course affects our children greatly. Finances are tough enough on a seperated family to add to limited job oppurtunities. It is just an outrage.

110 AnonymousAmen, it's about time someone took a stand and is trying to fix this out of hand mess that has made the whole USA gone totally unrealistic,,,,right now it is "black" (sex offenders) and "white" (all other people), no one is seeing the shades of gray between the two,,,this sounds like it will help the "shades of gray". (shades of gray as in the predator thru the no risk offenders) Let's get realistic!!,,,Let the no and low risks lead their lives in a normal fashion and not have to fear moving and getting new jobs everytime a new city and state proximity law is passed. Yes, you do need to watch the higher risks and predators,,,,they are the ones causing all the problems,,,maybe if the goverment hadn't been hounding all the low riskers then they would have more time to devote to tracking and watching the higher risks and possibly stopping some of the repeats from the predators.

Picked out by media off the registry most likely because of his tattoos. I was outraged, now my kids are at risk of being involved in possible retaliation, from something that was supposedly there to protect them? This is crazy! Never mind, this guy was recently laid off, how is he supposed to get a job now? His face plastered all over the news?

Well I guess the perfect system failed, they were on the list, so that should keep everybody safe? Right? Wrong. The witch hunt must stop.

134 Michael RancourtI am an ex-offender of 23 years ago ! PLEASE LET ME GET ON WITH MY LIFE. I have spent 23 years moving forward without even a traffic violation. Now 23 years later these Laws have brought me back to square one ! It is one thing to require sex offenders to register under the Commonwealth's registry law but, it is a different issue when the legislature has retroactively written into the law that these persons previously convicted of a "sexually violent offense" are dangerous. When the legislature declare persons dangerous, THE LEGISLATURE VIOLATES THE CONSTITUTIONS PROHIBITION AGAINST BILLS OF ATTAINDER (or its lesser form, Bill of Pains and Penalties). The effects of the retroactive “dangerous labeling” are: The sex offenders' legal status is changed, and they are systematically denied a society by the very construction and misconstruction of the laws that govern society. Sex offenders, even though they have paid their debt according to society's penal laws, are now labeled an outcast ostracized from society and subject to subtle denials WITHOUT ANY LEGAL RECOURSE.

So why do many of us have to pay the price that we paid years ago, and now have new familes with small children and was not a 2 or 3 tier have to tell our children , sorry my son but we can't go on a Easter egg hunt at the park, or we can't go to the Disney World, or we have to move because? Or a child ask daddy why did those people thow a rock though our window, or why did that guy call you that? Who is this hurting now? We also have small children and if our GOV"T is so concerned about children, then what they're doing is as much child abuse as anything. While USAG sits there this week fighting for his job, and spending taxpayers dollars, role playing so he can tell the commitee what he thinks they want to hear. So while I would agree that if a person today has done somthing wrong to a child, they should be punish. Having said that if you have as many of you have stated paid our dues, why punish us all over again, but most important DAMAGE OUR CHILDREN TO THE POINT THAT THEY WILL MAYBE DO SOMETHING TO HARMM THEMSELVES. So I would ask that this not be made rectroactive and while Bill O'Reilly should also take in mind "THAT THERE ARE TRULY GOOD PEOPLE OUT HERE THAT MADE A MISTAKE AND PAID THEIR PRICE" As it relates to the families like Walsh had a very bad thing happen to his family we all are sorry for that, but why would he want to punish small children "IF HE CARED SO MUCH ABOUT CHILDREN? So the AWA should not be made Rectroactive as well as all states. If USAG Gonzales would like to see our small children 3, 5, 10 years old sleeping under a bridge like in Florida this week and have no food, warmth, TV or a good education then He condones "CHILD ABUSE" as well as so many other not one of them on the Hill have taken in to account our current families, after so many years ago.

By all accounts this is a form of USAG and others that they are guilty of the following and should be convicted as well. If a person has paid their punishment and have been trying to raise a family, but subjected to, Gun fire, Harassment, Stones being thrown at their home, psychological damaging children at school as well at other public places. Neglect is depriving a child of their essential needs. These include nutrition, clothing, warmth and shelter, emotional security and protection, medical, and dental car, hygiene, education, and supervision. C. Emotional and psychological abuse is when a child is not nurtured and is not provided with love and security. D. Physical abuse is any physical injury to a child which is not accidental. IT WOULD APPEAR TO ME THAT EVERYONE INCLUDING ADAM WALSH FORGOT TO READ WHAT THE DEFINITION IS. This guy John Walsh is so “MAD AT THE WORLD” when the person that I think they never caught? Wants to take his hate out on all mankind. What I really can’t understand is why he KNEW THAT FOLEY WAS BEING INVESTIGATED IN 2003, 2005 AND 2006, CAN STAND BESIDE THIS MAN AND, Create a world of child abuse himself, meaning John Walsh. I have been reading so many people that their lives, children, just recently shot a man in his home what if and maybe there was a child in there or children. IS THIS A FORM OF CHILD ABUSE? YES IT IS AND THAT IS WHY OUR USAG SHOULD NOT BE PUSHED BY THIS WALSH TO PUT OUR CHILDREN IN A BUBBLE, OUT ON THE STREET, THREATEN, IF YOU STUDY JOHN WALSH LONG AND HARD ENOUGH YOU WILL FIND HE HAS A HIDDEN AGENDA. Having said that if he keeps up this stuff he is doing he and all of the others involved will and should be convicted of “CHILD ABUSE.” I am very sure a jury would see it that way. I was forced to confess to the possession of internet digital pictures of porn in deleted clusters of my computer hard drive. My browser was hijacked while I was browsing the web. I was redirected to illegal sites against my will. Some illegal pictures were found on my hard drive, recovering in unallocated clusters, without dates of file creation/download. 146 Tim PoxsonI would be very carefull as to how I worded the second offense. Many people have two offenses that may have come at the same time or may be in the same time frame before they had a problem and now after years have been corrected. I would sugest that the wording to be or have a second offense within the last 5 years.
