Name: Kerri Halligan on Jan 10, 2009Comments: Please narrow the scope of the new CPSIA legislation! I am a stay at home mom to 5 children and their safety is my utmost concern. This new law takes away my choice to buy LOCAL hand made SAFE toys and clothing for my children. Go after the companies who knowingly used lead in toys.Flag

Name: Terra Williams on Jan 10, 2009Comments: As a small business owner and mother of four children, I understand protecting our children. This needs to be done with common sense at the forefront. Many, many small businesses offer goods that can not afford to be tested individually. If my blanket was deemed lead free, then it stands to reason that the other blanket I made from the exact same material is also safe. Test at the manufacturing level when it comes off the press.Flag

Name: Jane Loedding on Jan 10, 2009Comments: This law needs to be changed! Make it applicable to companies who out source their products to China. Not those of us who create products using all natural, certified non-toxic materials made in the USA.Flag

Name: Richard Laycock on Jan 10, 2009Comments: This is an un-american, fascist outrage. The problem was caused by large corporations outsourcing to China. The bill benefits only those same corporations that poisoned our children. This is the result of bribery not reason.Flag

Name: Abby Munoz on Jan 10, 2009Comments: Almost all my childrens clothes, shoes, toys, books, etc. are purchased pre-owned. If this law will prohibit selling and buying pre-owned items, our family will have to choose between buying food and paying utility bills, or buying NEW shoes and clothes when our children out grow theirs. Also the clothes they outgrow would be dumped in a landfield instead of being sold on Ebay or a Yard Sale for a enough money to help us out and would be used and enjoyed by someone else.Flag
