These residents of San Elijo Hills in order to insure the safety of the children of SEES and SEMS would like the City Council of San Marcos and the Traffic Safety Commission to repeal the "no stopping" signs on Brightwood Drive for these reasons: 1. The traffic Safety Commission did not do their due diligence when surveying SEH residents. A large number of SEH residents affected were not surveyed. 2. The Traffic Safety Commission based their decision on a survey of Brightwood Dr. residents and ignored the recommendation of city staff. 3. The professionals on the City staff recommended posting speed limit signs, basing their decision of studies done by traffic management, the Sheriff's office, and the Fire Marshall. All studies done by these agencies resulted in NO safety concerns during the hours of 8-9am and 2-4pm. 4. The safety concern is now children will have to cross a busy intersection to safely get picked up when studies have shown the Brightwood cul de sac to be safe. This petition will be shown to the Traffic Safety Commission of San Marcos and to the City Council. If you support these efforts to repeal the Brightwood Drive "no stopping" signage please sign this petition and help keep our children safe. Please add your signature below.
