Amendment One is an extreme Constitutional Amendment in the state of North Carolina that was sold to voters as an affirmation of marriage being between one man and one woman. In actuality, Amendment One deprived all citizens not involved in one man, one woman marital unions of certain rights and privileges. A deprivation of rights does not belong in a state Constitution. We must start the process of building a bi-partisan grassroots effort to repeal Amendment One and end a modern-day version of segregated society.
