It was a heroic triumph we must never forget!
The union army planned to give ever black family "a farm and a mule." The plantations the blacks slaved on should have been given to them. Then blacks would have been able to bring themselves up.
This never happened.
There are huge southern corporations today that are rich because of the work of slaves.
