Forcing players to dedicate what is sometimes hours of their time to do dailies to get gear on-top of having to grind the points to purchase said gear is just insane for many reasons, here are a few:

1) Not everyone enjoys playing a DPS class, and doing these dailies on anything but is horrible. Healers and tanks that do not enjoy playing their characters DPS specs can easily spend over an hour at each hub.

2) The rate at which you acquire valor points to the rate that you acquire rep makes doing one of the 2 obsolete for a large portion of play time due to "caps" and only one way to gain rep.

3) Blizzard has argued that you do not "need" to do rep in order to advance however you sort of do, "Bag of gold finder" is NOT a way to get gear. It is a waste of time in most situations and does NOTHING for character progression as the gear that you "rarely get" is not THAT much better than heroic gear and makes normal raids very difficult.

4) Dailies are now a common thing across many different games and killing 40 of these, collecting 50 of these kill 100 of those etc etc, is not a daily chore anyone wants to do.
