Target: U.S. Representative Pete Sessions of Texas Sponsored by: John Tweedell We, the undersigned citizens of Texas, serve notice that we are opposed to any discussion in the House of Representatives concerning "amnesty" or any form of legalization for illegal aliens until we have secured our borders, mandated the use of E'Verify for employers with criminal penalties imposed on violators, installed and implemented a full biometric visa tracking system at every land, sea, and air port of entry, and have completed construction of the 700 mile double-layer border fence mandated by the 2006 Secure Fence Act. Senate Republicans allowed S.744 to pass. This legislation, if enacted, will destroy our nation. The Senate has turned its back on the millions of American citizens who are now unemployed or under employed by flooding the market with cheap immigrant workers. Our already strained welfare system will collapse under the weight of the millions of new authorized recipients. It further adds insult to injury by weakening enforcement even though the Senate promised stronger enforcement. We realize that any legislation concerning immigration that is passed by the House will go to conference with S.744 and amnesty will prevail. We demand that you proclaim your opposition to any immigration related bill authored in the House during this legislative session and do everything in your power as Chairman of the Rules Committee to see that no immigration bill passes out of the House.
