Rubber Track

Twelve Oaks Stadium is in need of a rubber track.
Currently, the track at twelve oaks is a concrete surface track with potholes and is in need of serious and immediate renovation. This stadium is being used by middle school students for track competitions and is hazardous.
There is only one other rubber track available, Tara Stadium with only six tracks instead of eight tracks as other track. Tara Stadium is not accessible to the citizens of Clayton county only use for high school and middle school competitions.
Another rubber track that will be accessible and opened for use by the community would be an asset to Clayton County and would decrease the number of injuries incurred related to running on a concrete surface. A rubber track would also help those student athletes be better prepared for higher levels of competition and be more evenly matched against their counterparts who have the advantage of practicing on a rubber track every day. In addition, having more than one venue in Clayton County that has a rubber track would place the county in a position of possibly having the option of hosting track competitions that would generate funds for the County schools.

This petition will be mailed (in snail and e format) to Clayton County Board members by March 30, 2005. If you support our efforts to improve Twelve Oaks stadium to better serve the citizens of Clayton County, please add your signature below.
