On February 21, 2013, Primeval: New World was cancelled; less than 48 hours after the season finale aired on Space in Canada. For Primeval fans it is the third time they have encountered this disappointment, following ITV's initial cancellation of the original series after season 3, and no word of renewal following the end of season 5. But as fans, we can take hope that this will not be the end. When ITV cancelled the original series after season 3, fans from all over the world banded together; their united movement caused ITV to reverse their decision, and a further 13 episodes spread across two seasons were produced. United, we have a powerful voice; one that can be listened to and respected. And so, the same day that news of the cancellation landed, this petition was created. After only four hours there were 100 signatories. This petition has been live less than a day, and already over 500 people have signed, asking Space and Bell Media to reverse their decision...
