The
 recent atrocities committed by gun man carrying an assault weapon; Aurora CO, the food ct in shopping mall (Oregon) and and the worst of all Newtown CT is proof that Congress must renew the ban on assault weapons. We know that the gun man in Aurora Co 
purchased his weapons easily, through local gun stores and on the
 web where all he needed was a credit card. Without one background check he
amassed an arsenal of assault weapons and 6,000 rounds of ammunition. These atrocities would not have happened if there was a ban on assault weapons. In 1994 
Bill Clinton signed into law the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, this law expired
 in March 2, 2004 and the bill to renew the ban has yet to reach the floor.
Please join me in this petition, with enough signatures we can lobby Congress 
to renew the Federal Assault Weapons Ban.
