Mr. John H. Randle affectionately known as Professor Randle lived with his wife, Catherine Lois Randle, and raised his children at 104 Rockland Heights in Hendersonville, TN. until his death. He was the first African-American teacher in the Sumner County school system. Though he had taught for years within the African-American schools during segregation, he began his career after segregation at Knox Doss Middle School. He was known for his dedication to the needs of the community. He taught many of today's baby boomers throughout Hendersonville. He was also a dedicated member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville, a Korean War veteran, and a member of the Masonic Order. He touched hundreds of people through education and civic involvement with numerous students, community members and society at-large.
