We propose that the Diving Penalty in the NHL should be renamed each year after the player who tallies the most Diving minutes in the previous season including Playoffs. This is the best way (and a fun way) to crack down on embellishment in the league as no one will want to become the namesake for such an unsavoury act. For example; Averying, Tuckering, Kovleving, Ribieroing, or Browning could have been possibilities in recent years. In the event of a tie the name shall be hyphenated. Imagine calling it Sedin/Burrowsing or please god please Ovechkin/Crosbying (not that Sid ever gets called for it!)... but see how fun it is? Lets get Bettman to think about it by joining and sharing this petition.
