Judge Darrell Russell, a Baltimore county judge, recently allowed an accused domestic abuser to marry his victim. Now, why would a judge allow an abuser to marry his victim? All it would do is allow the victim to exercise his or her spousal privilege to decline from testifying. That is exactly what happened, and now a possible 2nd degree domestic abuser is back in his home without any repercussions. Notably, another Baltimore county judge--whose name I am unaware of--waived the mandatory 48 hour waiting period to be married (what a good reason!). It is sad that we live in a country where someone can commit such a heinous crime and walk free. If you want to help stop corruption in the American judicial system, you can start now by signing this petition to remove Judge Darrell Russell from his bench.
