Say No To Humps!
Pinemont Park - Houston TX
As many of you are probably aware a ridiculous amount of speed humps have been installed in our subdivision streets. I’m starting a petition to see how many members of our community are interested in having them removed.
Why no love for the humps?
1) Increases Road maintenance spending:
I’ve witnessed several cars ride up onto the curbs in order to escape the humps, which will eventually result in the wear of our curbs and thus more road/curb maintenance spending
2) They are environmentally unfriendly:
Having to slow down and speed up uses more fuel, thus increasing our carbon footprint.
3) Slows down access of emergency personal:
If emergency personal have to slow down 5 times to get to your home, it could be the difference between life and death.
4) Increases vehicle ownership costs:
Slowing down and speeding up, riding over the humps all Increase wear and tear on your vehicle - especially those that ride low to the ground.
5) Increases noise pollution: Vehicles slowing down and speeding up creates more engine and brake noise.
6) Our subdivision has been without speeding / collision accidents for 5+ years… why now?
