Final supporters
Three children were put into juvenile detention for refusing to see their father. One is 9,10 and the other is 15. The eldest in the court hearing said he refused to see his father because he saw his father hit his mother but the stubborn judge refused to listen to his plea and said he was "brainwashed". im still trying to process the transcripts and the way those kids were treated in that courtroom. i have been reaching out to local legal watchdogs to see if there is any path to formal accountability because this cant just be ignored.

Any judge who is told by a witness that there was domestic violence in the home, then proceeds to ignore it and put the safety of children in danger by forcing them to see the perpetrator of violence in their home, needs to be disbarred IMMEDIATELY.
As a lawyer, I am horrified by the actions of this judge. As a parent, I am terrified that this is what is happening in a system that should protect children, rather than add to the chaos and turmoil occurring due to their parents' divorce. Shameful.
This judge is a joke! At least one of these children are old enough in any state to refuse to see a parent. Who puts kids in juvenile detention for adamantly refusing to see a parent?...One that no longer deserves to preside over any further cases!!!
Her actions set domestic violence back 100 yrs. To insist a child go to an abusive parent or go to juvie is unthinkable. Apparently she doesn't know the first thing about abusive situations....that being said how can she be expected to rule over them?
Regardless of what the parents' situation, it is not ok to punish children with incarceration. I believe the legal standard requires prioritizing the well-being of children. This is an abuse of judicial power and this judge should be held accountable.
Reading this case has been very upsetting. There has to be a lasting and sustainable action taken against Judge Gorcya. She clearly did not have the best interest of these 3 children at heart or in her ruling. As a country we need to do more to protect our children and empower them, and she did exactly the opposite while having immense power and jurisdiction at her disposal. There is no excuse, she has to go!
Abusive judges should be removed from their duties, fined and jailed for these abusive tactics.

Institutionalizing children, removing them from home and parent against their will, is the height of judicial hubris, and legally one of the most severe human rights violations. Undo this grave injustice. Remove this judge from the bench and the bar.
