Battersea Park Road is at the heart of the Battersea-Nine Elms regeneration plan and central to improving not only the image of this stretch of road, but also the entire area. One recent residential building that opened was 317 Battersea Park Road. This four storey building was beautifully constructed in keeping in the same style as the area. Six new flats sit above a retail shop that has now been filled by Cash Converters... herein lies the problem. While Cash Converters is not the ideal retail unit to have on an up and coming stretch of road, the company's decision of how to advertise has made it 1000 times worse. Anyone walking past will be astounded by the immense and over-the-top signage that has been plastered all over the building. The store has covered the walls in purple, blue, yellow, orange advertisments that are completely unnecessary. They have also erected enormous yellow signs with their company logo that stretch from one length of the building to the other. It is completely over the top and does not fit in with the same charm of the neighbourhood. They also have erected signs that protrude out of the wall.. another hideous use of their signs. While we understand there is nothing we can do with this business being there, we MUST ASK THEM TO REMOVE THEIR SIGNS. It paints the area in a bad light and the brash use of their signs is completely unnecessary. It is also absolutely hideous. Please sign this petition so we can tell Wandsworth Council that we want these signs removed. You can also e-mail Patrick O'Connor who is an enforcement officer at Wandsworth - poconnor1@wandsworth.gov.uk PLEASE HELP US GET THESE SIGNS DOWN!
