The intent of this petition is to gather enough participants to create a protest presentation to the U.S. Congress/Senate to remove Christmas as an official federal/state holiday and to eliminate any U.S. government entity from displaying any Christmas related articles. The U.S. constitution includes a condition that restricts the U.S. government from participating in or favoring any particular religion. The Christmas holiday, of Pagan origin, is a significant religious event in which the U.S. government has been a participant by making it a federal holiday, clearly violating its own constitutional agenda since Paganism is a documented religion. This federal holiday is a multimillion dollar tax burden to American citizens by providing holiday pay to thousands of federal/state employees. The original American colonists deferred from Christmas participation due to its Pagan origin. We need to uphold the purity of the American spirit and abide by our original constitutional guidelines to keep this country free of external influences.
