As Supernatural enters its eight season this September, fans would like to ask the writers to give Dean and Sam a fresh new start. Characters of the past few seasons, as memorable and loved as they were, should stay in the past. Season 8 should be a time of new beginning. Dean and Sam need to be given a new adventure, a new journey and more importantly a new set of allies and friends. This will be especially vital if Supernatural is to enter a ninth and even tenth season. The most problematic character of the series has been Castiel, who is not an original character and has long since overstayed his welcome. This character and his storyline has been exhausted. Don't chain Dean and Sam to the angel arc forever. Doing so will only result in losing long time viewers who wish the series to focus on Dean and Sam more exclusively like the first few seasons did.
