Name: Elizabeth Alexander on Jan 25, 2013Comments: I am outraged that this is even taking place! Really? Of all the spouses on this post who truly meet the legal qualifications, you all decided to go with horse and pon show? Guess the POTUS's inaugural speech was too easy a platform not to push such an agenda right on through, huh? *Disgusting! I would think much better from what USED to be a fine military tradition and HIGH honor!Flag

Name: Christa Alford on Jan 26, 2013Comments: She is not a legal spouse of a military servicemember. While I will not impose my beliefs and opinions on others, my question as to her qualifications for this award is this...what has she done for the Fort Bragg community, aside from gaining national attention because she was not admitted into the Fort Bragg Spouses Association? Girlfriends, boyfriends, fiances are not allowed in this association, so why should she qualify? This award needs to be given to a deserving spouse, one who contributes to the military community, and is a legal spouse recognized by the military.Flag

Name: Terri L. Powell on Jan 27, 2013Comments: I am a "legal and legimate" spouse of a United States Army Colonel and I resent the fact that someone who has no ID card, not enrolled in DEERS and introduced herself as CPT Heather Mack's "cousin" at Osan Air Base, Korea (deceiver) could be recognized as a Ft. Bragg "spouse"....Surely there are plenty of worthy, bonafied Ft. Bragg spouses out there....I can name a few for you if you need any help with this since that was our previous duty station. Call me and I can give them to you. Stop making this a political issue and dissing "real" Army spouses.Flag

Name: Elizabeth Blevins on Jan 27, 2013Comments: I agree 100%...her 'marriage' is not recognized by the state or our military. The first criteria for nomination was being married to an active duty military member. Her nominations should have been disregarded...her marriage isn't legal. And her win is a slap in the face to the hundreds of military spouses who devote themselves to the entire military community.Flag
