This petition, supported by both alumni and supporters of UCLA athletics, regretfully request that Head Men's Basketball Coach Ben Howland be removed from his post effective immediately. Coach Ben Howland, since the year 2008, has failed to perform to a level that is sufficient to maintain his current title as Men's Head Basketball Coach.
Since the 2008-2009 season, Coach Howland's program has had the transfer or release of 11 players from his program. This includes two transfers occurring within the timeframe of November 21st-November 28th, 2012. The players are listed as follows:

Drew Gordon
J'Mison Morgan
Mike Moser
Brendan Lane
Matt Carlino
De'End Parker
Reeves Nelson
Anthony Stover
Tyler Lamb
Josh Smith
Additionally, Coach Howland has failed to maintain a program that provides adequate safety for student athletes from other student athletes. During his tenure, he allowed a former player to abuse other former players in the program without proper discipline. This eventually lead to the transfer of the abused players.
Given this information, in addition to various other ludicrous situations which have caused great embarrassment over the past several years to both the program and its supporters, it is our request that Coach Ben Howland be relieved of his duties effective immediately.
