I never imagined this would actually happen when I first started this, but Lord Livingston has resigned from the board. This outcome belongs entirely to the thousands of you who refused to stay quiet about the disconnect between the club values and his actions. I am deeply honored to have …

On Monday the 26th of October 2015, Lord Ian Livingston voted in favour of cutting tax credits for some of the poorest families in the UK. Lord Livingston sits on the board of Directors of Celtic Football Club. A club which was formed to help feed the poor in the east end of Glasgow. This work continues today with the ongoing efforts of the Celtic Foundation. We find it hypocritical that Lord Livingston is considered a part of this club and wish him to be removed from the board of directors.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this because I never imagined so many people would feel the same way. This energy belongs entirely to those of you who recognized the contradiction here and decided to speak up.

I honestly never expected this many people to pay attention to my request. It feels strange to see 100 folks agreeing that our club values should come first. This momentum is entirely down to you taking the time to back this.

As a Rangers fan i wholeheartedly support the views of the Celtic fans expressed in this petition. Brother Walfrid would be furious with this man. The ideals of the club should come before his personal choice in that vote at the house of lords.

He doesn't know how it feels to work all week and still be no better off I've worked all my adult life and without tax credits I would have to quit my job as child care would take up most of my wage and with no tax credits we couldn't afford to live

Lifelong Celtic fan [to this point]...I find it disgusting that any monster who voted for such measures could be on the board of our great club.Immediate removal or I will be rethinking my love affair with this club untill it is clean of such evil

shameful that a person can hold such values and remain a director of a football club which was formed to assist the poorest in its community, he supports a policy which will create further poverty, he should resign immediately if he had any sense

Football may have moved on and inclusiveness can accommodate differing political views but attacks on the poor and vulnerable can never be consistent with Celtic's values, therefore it is inappropriate for Lord Livingston to be a Celtic board member.

Celtic FC was founded to help the poorest in our society and Lord Livingstone voted to make the poorest poorer and the rich richer. Since this is a direct violation of the things which the club stands for he should not be allowed to stand on the board.
