We the undersigned citizens, employees, and those interested in the improvement of the Tukwila School District, request the immediate removal of the Tukwila School District Superintendent, Ethelda Burke, Principal of Foster High School, Forrest Griek and an investigation into all members of the Tukwila School Board. We feel that the current racist comments and discriminatory practices by these individuals have created an unhealthy and toxic environment that prohibits the focus on student learning. The above named individuals are roadblocks to educating ALL of our students equitably. They have not upheld their responsibilities, and have abused their power for their own self-interests. In order for our community to heal, these individuals must step down immediately. New leadership is necessary to create an environment free from racism and discriminatory practices. Tukwila School District deserves a climate that respects all people and promotes culturally harmony.
