Name: Jasmine on Jul 27, 2008Comments: I agree whole-heartedly. I may not have been alive when they were on the air, but I know that the new version just wasn't the same. What happened to the Simon we know and love He would never degrade women in such a way. I must admit I am excited about the sequel, but that's only because I want to see how they portray the Chipettes. Let's face it, they are the heart and soul of the Chipmunks.Flag

Name: Cynthia on Jul 27, 2008Comments: I am not old enough to have seen the Chipmunks and Chipettes in the 80's, and definitely not old enough to have seen them in the 50's. I have not seen all of the episodes or have any of the merchandise. However, I was thrilled to have them come back. The newest movie was not as good as it should have been. Giving them a new look, new voices, new styles of music; it wasn't the same. The personalities and actions only barely fit they way they were truly made.Flag

Name: Ashley Kulhanek on Jul 28, 2008Comments: I may not have grown up with the Chipmunks in the 80's, but I have loved them all my life. My mother introduced them to me at a very young age and I have been collecting their CDs and movies ever since. The new movie made me want to scream Sure, it was cute, but as the petition said, it screwed eveything up. Simon, who happens to be my favorite, is in no way like the version he is in the movie. Both Alvin and Theodore were a little messed up too. Please, bring back the Chipmunks we all know and love from the 80's and 90's. Not this "Live, CGI" crud.Flag

But, it's not near as good as the old movies. I really love The Chipmunk Adventure! It's an awesome movie, and all the songs are really cute! I love the cartoon! I wanna see more of it! The way they were designed in The Chipmunk Adventure, with the color in their eyes! BRING BACK OUR MUNKS!Flag

Name: Sophie on Jul 28, 2008Comments: well the movie was good but there were some MAJOR differences. #1 Simon acted kind of more flirty and really only pointed out common sense. #2 who is Claire where did she come from and there were a few more but i can't put my finger on them now.Flag

Name: Alicia Conger on Jul 28, 2008Comments: I agree entirely with this petition. Not only were the older episode of the Chipmunk enjoyable to watch, but they had lessons and such to their episodes and story lines. There were many things about the live action movie that upset me so much. Not only did they ruin Simon's personality quite a bit, but I was actually really upset when they stuck an "A" on Alvin's cap. Actually, Alvin's cap in general upset me. It's what make's Alvin ..well, Alvin. He only wore it twice throughout the live action movie. It just wasn't the same as the old cartoons I still love looking back on. I miss them and would love such a series to come back the way I remember.Flag

Name: Simon Harchun on Jul 28, 2008Comments: Now this is a cause I can support. Why can't Hollywood ever think of anything original instead of re-hashing and 'modernizing' old cartoons that worked just fine in their original format, just to milk money out of a recognizable name Lazy greedy jackasses! Also, I'd hate for the wolfman and frankenstein movies to be the last we ever see of the cartoon chipmunks, because honestly those films aren't that great. The munks deserve better!Flag

Name: Vilhemina Van Berry on Jul 28, 2008Comments: I couldn't agree more. The thing that hurts the most is the blatant "adult" humor being exhibited through the Chipmunks. Updating is one thing, but degrading the spirit of family entertainment the characters once stood for is sad indeed. Vulgarity and stupid humor isn't the only thing that will entertain youth or adults.Flag

Name: Carys Cooke on Jul 30, 2008Comments: I thought the live action movie was... well terrible. It distorted the personalities of the Chipmunks. When I was a child I was addicted to them. I loved them to bits and when I heard the live-action movie was coming out..I was thrilled. 'Finally' I thought' they're back!' But when I saw the actual production..I was terribly let down. Simon acted so much like Alvin... and as Simon is my favourite I was slightly annoyed. I could always relate to each one of the chipmunks. Hot-tempered like Alvin, Smart and Dty-humoured like Simon, and hungry and cute like Theodore. But... After the movie...I just didn't feel that spark. But I threw myself back into the old cartoons... and suddenly. I was a chipmunk fan again! Please bring our old chipmunks back. They gave such a brilliant message to the world...It would be a thrill to see them back on our screens instead of the trash we are seeing now.Flag

Name: Makinna on Jul 30, 2008Comments: The live action movie was cute, but some of the songs from the CD were just not the kind I want to hear from the cute little fellas! I loved the 80's cartoons (even though i actually saw them after i saw the live action movie) I absolutely hate rap/hip hop music, so I couldn't stand most of the songs I heard tham singing. I just hope they don't wreck the Chipettes personalities in the upcoming movie...if they are emo, then I will be extremely mad. I'm so glad you made this petition so we can tell everyone that we love the Chipmunks that Ross Bagdasarian created, not these gangsta- style ones from the live action movie! So I know that an opinion from someone as young as me may not seem to matter, but I really support this and I want to join in the fight for what's right, I hope (though it probably won't happen) that the sequel will be more of an example for it's audiences than the first live action movie.Flag
