There are currently 160 students enrolled at Koromatua School.

90% of the students live in Temple View.

The limit is 310 students.

Planned developments in Temple View will double and triple the student population at Koromatua School over the next 10 years

The existing school is landlocked and cannot expand.

Once the maximum student count is reached a lottery will be used to determine who attends Koromatua School and who attends a school in Hamilton.

There is a window of opportunity to solve this problem today, and not put it off for others to deal with in five or ten years.

This will benefit the entire community.

Parents will be able to walk their children to school

Students will benefit from modern large open classroom learning environments.

The David O McKay Building will provide students with some of the best indoor physical education, concert, plays and kapa haka facilities in New Zealand.

The community will share and use these facilities after school hours and on weekends.The current Koromatua school property can be sold.

The Department of Education is open to leasing the existing facilities in Temple View. They also encourage the sharing of school facilities with the community.

A group of returned missionaries in the USA is willing and able to fund the renovation of the David O McKay Building.
