The petition

We, the undersigned, would like to express our concerns about the religious accommodations that are available in public schools for students who belong to ethnic minorities.

Considering that:
- According to an article in the Globe and Mail, the number of visible minorities in Canada is expected to double by 2017 and form more than half the population in greater Toronto and Vancouver
- We live in a multicultural society that values religious pluralism and equality
- Students have the right to celebrate religious occasions with their families without having to compromise their devotion to academic and extra-curricular activities

The following petitioners would like to see the establishment of multi-faith prayer rooms, along with more diverse official religious holidays, for every public school across the Region of Peel.

If you agree with our efforts, please show your support by adding your signature below and inviting others to do the same; by Friday, August 10th, 2007.
