The comedian Spike Milligan had a long and fruitful relationship with the BBC. The classic Goon Show radio programmes have been released on many formats over the years, but Spike's work for Television, has been largely overlooked, and the shows themselves have never been repeated. Spike's work clearly influenced the Monty Python team, and he even made a guest appearance in The Life of Brian. His genius on television was shown in the classic series: Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q9, and There's a Lot of it About. All extremely funny shows, with a fantastic cast of supporting actors. It is known that some of these earlier shows are now missing, but the shows that still remain should be released on DVD and made available to the hordes of Spike's fans that would love to see these classics again, and also bring the work of this comic legend to a new audience.
