Name: Shawna Gardham on May 3, 2012Comments: I've lived in Tofino for the past 12 years and prior to that I spent many summer weekends on the beach at Long Beach. I have witnessed many close calls in the water where the lifeguards have saved people. In the summer months, Long Beach looks like a busy California beach with people all over it who do not understand the currents, the temperature and the risks of the ocean. The National Park Reserve and both Ucluelet and Tofno depend on tourism. The tourists safety needs to be protected along with the integrity of the area. Please reinstate the Surf Guards at Long Beach. Thank you.Flag
